Yoshimitsu
Yamada Sensei, Shihan, is now an
hachidan (8th level black belt) and the chief instructor at the
New York Aikikai. He is a direct student of O'Sensei and has taught
extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, South America, Europe and
Africa. Currently he is Chairman of the Board of the United States
Aikido Federation.
Nelson
Andujar Sensei now holds a 6th degree black belt (dan) in Aikido,
and has been conferred the title of Shidoin. He is the founder and
chief instructor of the Miami Aikikai. He began his aikido practice
in the 1960's at the New York Aikikai, headed by Yoshimatsu Yamada,
8th dan, Shihan. Andujar Sensei's relocation to Texas in 1996 has
limited his direct teaching at the Miami Aikikai to special classes
and seminars held throughout the year. We look forward to Andujar
Sensei's return to Miami and a regular teaching schedule at the
Miami Aikikai in the upcoming year.
Gustavo
Ramos Sensei, 4th dan, and Eliot Rifkin Sensei,
4th dan
These two senseis are currently the senior instructors at the Miami
Aikikai. Each is a Fukushidoin and has studied Aikido for over twenty
years. The majority of those years have been under the direct supervision
of Nelson Andujar Sensei.
Other
instructors at the Miami Aikikai include:
Donald Praeger
Bratso Parrena
