EAGLES BEAT BRADDOCK, 55-40

Braddock scored the first point of the game but never led again as visiting Southwest coasted to a 55-40 victory Monday night. The Eagles (9-2, 7-1) quickly turned the 1-0 deficit into a 9-1 lead. The Bulldogs (7-8, 2-6) trailed 13-5 after one quarter, 26-16 at the half, and 40-30 entering the final period. Braddock cut the lead to 40-35 as Southwest was scoreless for the first 4:18 of the fourth quarter. A Michael Juachon basket ended the offensive drought and the Eagles outscored the Bulldogs 15-5 the rest of the way. Southwest coach Tom Moore was able to clear the bench with 1:29 remaining. Gio Gonzalez led all scorers with 15 points and he and Oscar Blanco had 4 assists each. Ray Lleonart had team highs in rebounds and steals with 5 and 2, respectively.
