TORRES LEADS EAGLES PAST CP

Leo Torres scored 19 points and pulled down 8 rebounds to lead visiting Southwest (12-3) past Coral Park, 56-47. The game started out close with the Eagles leading 12-10 after one quarter and the Rams up 24-23 at the half. Southwest scored the first six points of the third quarter and never trailed again. Torres and Gio Gonzalez each had 6 points in the third period as the Eagles stretched their lead to 40-29 entering the final quarter. Torres' final basket of the evening made it 51-31 before the Rams (4-13) scored some points during garbage time to make the final score appear closer than the game was. Southwest, normally a solid free throw shooting team, struggled from the line going 3-for-9. Torres added three steals and Ray Lleonart had 4 assists for the Eagles.
