EAGLES LOSE TO BRADDOCK
Ice
cold shooting was too much to overcome Thanksgiving eve in a 51-45 loss to Braddock
in the home-opener. The offensive futility was at its worst in the third quarter
when the Eagles shot only 3-for-18 from the floor. The Bulldogs led 14-8 after
one period, 21-17 at the half, and 34-24 entering the final quarter. Southwest
cut the lead to 2 points on a Gio Gonzalez 3-pointer with 44 seconds left but
the Eagles had to foul to get the ball back and Braddock hit 4 of 6 free throws
to close out the game. Head coach Tom Moore said, "We had plenty of open
shots. We need to be smarter under pressure." The scoring:
Juachon 15
Gonzalez
10
Stewart 8
Godoy 5
Vargas 4
Rams 3
