EAGLES SET UP BATTLE OF UNBEATENS FRIDAY

Southwest (5-0, 5-0) held visiting RR Doral (1-6, 0-5) to a season low point total in a 51-26 victory. The Eagles face the only other undefeated team in district play Friday night at Columbus. As has been the case too often this year, Southwest came out firing on all cylinders before taking a siesta in the second quarter. The Eagles led 12-0 after one period, then failed to score a field goal in the second quarter to take a 14-9 halftime lead. Southwest was clinging to a 20-16 lead midway through the third period when Alex Mola's 3-pointer ignited a 29-0 run that lasted until a Bison basket with 2:18 remaining in the game made it 49-18. Gio Gonzalez had 11 of his game-high 19 points in the third quarter and Mola added two more 3-pointers. Gonzalez also had 5 steals while Ray Lleonart led the Eagles with 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
