EAGLES FINISH 2-1 IN VERO BEACH

Southwest (7-2) bounced back from a tough opening round loss to finish 2-1 in the Vero Beach Holiday Hoopla tournament downing Seminole, 47-40. The Eagles led the whole way but had trouble putting the Warhawks (3-7) away. Southwest led 7-5 after one quarter, 17-15 at the half, and 29-24 entering the final quarter. Gio Gonzalez made 4 of 5 free throws in the final 1:06 to cinch the win. Ray Lleonart had 9 rebounds and 4 steals to lead the defensive effort while Leo Torres led the Eagles in assists with 3.
